About us
Hello, my name is Lacy Shilagani and I am the owner of Ninjacat Studio. My family moved here from Texas a few years ago for my husband’s job. He works in the city for the United Nations.
I have one daughter whose name is Violet and she is just full of sugar and spice. She adores her kitty, Jellybean, who is also full of spice...a lot of spice.
I taught elementary art for 8 years in McKinney, Texas before we moved up here. It was amazing and I have to say that 90% of it did not feel like work at all. It was like sunshine getting to see a child apply their new knowledge with whatever material we were working with. Most of all, I miss getting to opportunity to see their amazing creations. Each piece was so different and told so much of who they were. Through our professional development in that amazing art forward district, I had the awesome opportunity to learn how to fuse glass and to safely teach it to my students. I fell in love! And this would bring me to why I started this art studio, to share my love and knowledge of all things art with my community. This space is designed be a safe place to explore, imagine and create without the worry of making a mistake. I encourage mistakes, the best art comes from them!
